- Importance of Past Medical History: Your own medical history as well as that of your partner may contain vital clues that could help us identify possible causes for your inability to get pregnant. This could include conditions such as ovulatory disorders, low sperm count, a uterine septum, previous pelvic injury or surgery, history of STDs, diabetes, or genetic abnormality. No aspect of your past medical history is considered too trivial for our consideration.
- What You Can Expect During Your Visit: Apart from a physical examination, your doctor will discuss your health records in detail. You must also inform your doctor about any medications you are currently on or may have used in the past. Feel free to express any concerns or insights that you may have or possible reasons as to why your previous fertility treatments were not successful.
- Advanced Diagnostic Testing: Testing can provide important information to help identify the cause of fertility trouble. Any tests you have performed in the past will be reviewed. Tests that have been performed correctly need not be repeated. In addition, your doctor may order additional advanced diagnostic tests that may help in an accurate diagnosis of your condition and in the formulation of an appropriate treatment plan.
